  1. This recipe is fantastic!! I served the meatloaf with cheddar-scallion risotto the first night, then made the grilled cheese the next day (subbing real cheddar for American cheese and using mayo to fry… also drizzled w/ spicy honey). Anyway, thanks. This rules.

  2. You’re going to think I’m crazy. I made this, subing ground turkey for the meatloaf mixture and turned it into burgers!! It was really good! Hm… What’s next? We now have a lady and pups night in our house!!

  3. Cook the meatloaf at 500 degrees! :O We clean our ovens at that! My app says 446 degrees Fahrenheit, still quite high! I swear our ovens are different!! I have changed Celsius to Fahrenheit quite a few times for cooking and it never works out. SO!!! :) I’m going to try to make this tonight!!! Will think about oven times and stuff and let ya know what I get.

    • Kristi, oh no!! I feel so bad because oven-cleaning is torture! My oven is in celsius and the highest goes to 230C. It heats up by one of those “tubes” things, not by flame (which was what my oven back in new york does). then i set it at top-and-bottom bake at 230c for the first 10 min to sear the meatloaf. Maybe try skipping the searing part and just bake at 400f until internal temperature reaches 160f?

  4. We did have this for dinner… and it was delicious! :) Thank you so much for sharing the recipe!!! All the flavors worked very well together and we have some leftovers to try the sandwiches. SO now I have my eye on your black forest cake next! :) Thank you again!!

Baking. Here most meatloafs cook at 350F to 375F. The meat that I bought looked a little fatty, so I did mine at 350F. I doubled the amount of glaze. I put half on and then baked it. Just before it was almost done, I removed it to rest. After the resting period, I put the rest of the glaze on and put it under the broiler. It was very juicy and the outside was browned very nicely. Thank you again!! :)
