A WRONG AND IRRESPONSIBLE SANDWICH

  1. This post made me feel all dirty in a very good way.

I rememeber when I was a kid I used to microwave ketchup & mozzarella sandwiches with white bread. But you had to microwave it enough so the bread was crunchy. Ah the good times. To quote one of my fav films Peter’s Friends, Adults are just children who owe money.

    responsibilities, schmonsobilities…

  2. Oh god Do I remember the taste of this sandwich at the Asian lunch shops. My fave still has to be the weak tomate broth with pasta and spam fried to crispy perfection. Still not sorry.

I actually have gotten more irresponsible as I have grown up. Not only with my health but Taking life less seriously too; maybe that why I am keeping young (at least in my mind)

  3. This is f-ing hilarious as usual & loving the new social media buttons at the bottom of your posts! Much easier to pin you now.

Your photography is by far the prettiest of any food blog I follow btw.

  4. I couldn’t help coming to your blog when I saw this photo on pinterest and am I glad I did. Absolutely. As soon as I figure out what I am going to use to substitute the ham(we don’t eat ham), I am making this bad boy :)

  5. Can we just talk for a moment about how this is the sexiest sandwich I have ever seen? This blog is like the shirtless-Bradly-Cooper-speaking-French of food porn.

  6. You know who you remind me of?! David Foster Wallace. I hope that doesn’t offend you somehow, because it’s a compliment! I’m reading a collection of his essays right now and I just marvel at his brilliant wordplay…and yours. Except with yours I get to enjoy stunning pictures of food and recipes! Modern technology is totally spoiling me.

  7. Mandy – Babe – don’t you see it? How responsible you are talking about how you’re not responsible??? Good job! Growin’ up ain’t so bad……

Love the meat and sweet. Will try! I want to be BAD!!!

  8. Oh mannn this sandwich is killing me. Killing me softly with sugar and ham. (I loved the commenter Laurie: “meat and sweet”.) I don’t know where you come up with this stuff but the world is by far a better place with your blog in it. And with this food in my belly!

  9. Oh my. All my haunted dreams of not buying an extra 788558686 squishy bottles of Japanese mayonnaise before leaving Oahu just returned…..

  10. Hahaha I’m a new fan of your site; your writing, your images and your witty brain that comes up with these naughty recipes :) I’m fast growing out of my teen years and it also starts to scare me about these so called big future responsibilities I’ll have in adult years. But no worries, naughty food will keep me young at heart I’m sure. But I can’t imagine what it’d be like when I have kids of my own to give example to. Well it’ll probably end up with me buying crisps during their nap time and me eating them solo in the bathroom or something haha.

  11. Oh dear god. Why haven’t I made these already??? It’s sort of like never having been read Where the Wild Things Are as a child, then reading it as an adult in a fragile state of mind and feeling like you missed out on a world of awesome children’s books. In this case, though, I’ve clearly missed out on a world of sandwiches.

  12. You can turn a cheeky phrase AND cook? This quite possibly saved me from ripping someone a new one today, laughter being the best medicine and all. I’m relieved the mayo is legal. Cheers!

  13. I only came here to get taro chip recipes…..that was 4hrs ago….. can’t close the tabs of your site, all that food… what have you done to me?

  14. Mmmmmmm SO GOOD. This crackly creme brûlée kinda French toast has changed my life. Next time though I’ll tweak the inner piece of bread (I thought it a bit too plain and not crispy enough) and add some cheese. I can’t wait to make sweet versions of these.

  15. This is a very unusual sandwich, but I’m sure it will turn out very tasty. Be sure to try to cook these sandwiches to his son in school, I hope he will be happy :)
