  1. Oh my….. everything sounds and looks delicious. My mouth is drooling. My kids love eating spicy dried noodles as a convenient snack and I bet they would like this too which is waaayyyyyy better for them. My HUGE fear is the oil – how do you keep the oil from overheating? What number on the dial of your stove do you cook the oil at approximately? Hope that doesn’t sound like a weird question but frying is a huge fear of mine. Thanks, Kelly

    • KELLY, don’t worry, this is the perfect place for you to start frying because its so quick and splatter free! When in doubt, just start with medium heat on your large burner, or high heat on your small burner, and increase it if need be, like say do a tester and see if it fries properly. The noodle should turn golden in a couple minutes. If the pil gets too hot, say the noodles are burning too quickly, just turn off the heat for a minute to cool down the oil.

      • Ok I’ll nervously try a batch. You think this is a good one to start with? I guess if I start with low oil and then turn it up the worst that can happen is the noodles absorb more oil. I tried baking a batch of donuts once and it was a complete mess and haven’t tried anything since. Hence my nervousness. Thanks, Kelly

  2. Those noodle are perfect, round and thin and white and awesome when fried, hmm wonder how to make those? *hint hint, haha. I think those spice mix just need umami (msg) to make it legitimate street food. HAAA.

  3. Dude, I love this. I went to school in China for three months or so in the third grade (where I spent a lot of time staring out the window because I couldn’t understand half of what was going on, and the teacher gave me pity grades on the work I turned in that was half pinyin bahhaha) and one of our most exciting moments was when one kid would go buy a packet of instant noodles from the street vendors outside, crush it all up with the seasoning and open it up and share it with everyone. In retrospect I’m not sure why everyone always shared. There’s a political message here that I think I’d rather not articulate. e___e

ANYWAY, I love this and it sounds deeeeelicious!

  4. These look like those ramen chips in the Asian markets!!! You know the bbq, miso, and soysauce flavored ones? But, yeah, when I was a kid, my aunt told me that I could eat some ramen noodles straight from the bag–uncooked. I was appalled at first, but she told me some were flavored, so they tasted great. Boy, was she right!
